Books
We have a lot of books in the collection that deal with invasive plants and animals. If you're looking for a particular species, try typing it in and see what comes up. You can also use combinations of words like biological, organism, plant, animal, invasion, invasive, introduced, etc. For example:

If your first search brings up too many irrelevant items, try using the Refine by Topic suggestions in the box on the left of the search results screen.
We also have a number of reference books on this issue. Take a look through these books for background information or to look up possible topic ideas.
Biological Invasions: Economic and Environmental Costs of Alien Plant, Animal, and Microbe Species by Call Number: Reference QH353 .B57 2002This is a collection of research on plant and animal invasion issues around the world, organized by country.
Invasive Plants of the Upper Midwest : An Illustrated Guide to Their Identification and Control by Call Number: Reference SB612.M54 C93 2005A handy source for information on invasive species in and around Minnesota. Descriptions and pictures of the plants, with information on their habitats and control. Look in the appendices for lists of suggested resources.
Invasive Plant Species of the World: A Reference Guide to Environmental Weeds by Call Number: Reference SB613.5 .W43 2003A list of invasive plant species, their locations, use, and control. Organized by scientific (Latin) name.

- CQ Researcher This link opens in a new windowThis database contains in-depth essays on a number of topics, including Invasive Species. These essays all contain extensive bibliographies that you can use to point you to other useful sources.

- Great Lakes Information Network: Invasive SpeciesA good source of information on invasive species in the Great Lakes region. Includes state regulations, photo galleries, and more.
- National Invasive Species Information CenterThe main government site for invasive species. Find information on plants, animals, laws, etc. There's also a nice See What's In My State option for looking up local concerns.
- Invasive.orgThis site has a lot of information, including useful images, maps, and videos.
- Invasive SpeciesAnother government site with information on invasive species. A bit hard to navigate, but you can drill down through the menus on the left to find data and maps.
