PubChem is the world's largest collection of freely accessible chemical information. Search chemicals by name, molecular formula, structure, and other identifiers. Find chemical and physical properties, biological activities, safety and toxicity information, patents, literature citations and more.

ChemSpider is a free chemical structure database providing fast text and structure search access to over 100 million structures from hundreds of data sources. Search by chemical name, systematic name, synonym, trade name, registry number, SMILES or InChI and/or structures, and find related data including literature references, physical properties, interactive spectra, and chemical suppliers.

- ChemView: U.S. EPAUse this database to get information on chemical health and safety data received by EPA and EPA's assessments and regulatory actions for specific chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). ChemView contains no confidential business information (CBI).
- Google ScholarGoogle Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for literature. Make sure to take a look at our "Using Google Scholar" HowTo.
- Films on Demand This link opens in a new windowOver a hundred streaming videos on Chemistry. The search engine is still a work in progress, so it's better to browse.

Books
When you search the catalog for Chemistry resources, try using combinations of terms like these:
- polymers and syntheses
- sulfur compounds
- chemical structures and bonding
- thermal properties and material
If your first search brings up too many irrelevant items, try using the Refine by Topic suggestions in the box on the left of the search results screen.

- CAS Presents Common ChemistryCommon is a web resource that contains CAS Registry Numbers for approximately 7,900 chemicals of widespread general public interest.
- ChemspiderA great and free source of chemical information that allows searching by systematic name, synonym, trade name, registry number, SMILES or InChI. Searching by the structure is also available.
- ChemBioFinderWith over half a million compounds indexed, this is a good source for chemical information. Search by chemical name, CAS Registry Number, molecular formula, weight or structure. After five searches, a free registration is required.
- Physics & Chemistry links at Science.govA useful place to look for government sites and publications relating to Chemistry.
- Organic Chemistry PortalA great site for organic chemistry information, including abstracts of recent articles and a searchable database of organic reactions.
- Organic Chemistry Resources WorldwideAnother good site for organic chemistry. Provides links to websites on a number of topics, such as reaction components and synthesis strategies. Look here for patents as well.
