Augsburg University currently has six graduate programs that require a formal project, such as a thesis, for completion of the degree: Doctor of Nursing Practice, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Arts in Leadership, Master of Arts in Nursing, Master of Fine Arts, and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Students in the Master of Social Work program no longer write them, but a number of legacy theses exist. In fact, Augsburg students have been writing theses for decades — the oldest ones in the Archives date back to 1948.
An overview of theses at Augsburg is here: Theses & Dissertations at Augsburg University. For each Augsburg graduate-degree project, two bound copies are usually given to the library, which catalogs these theses and makes them available to the Augsburg community. One copy is stored in the Archives, where limited, in-library access under a librarian’s supervision is possible by special request. The other copy goes into the library’s circulating collection, where it can be checked out by students and faculty. (If only one bound copy is turned in, it goes into the Archives, and no circulating version is available.)
Starting in 2015, graduate students now have the option of adding a digital copy of their thesis to the collection. These are available full-text in the Theses and Dissertations section of Idun, Augsburg's digital repository.
