Books by and about individual writers are on the library's Lower Level. Authors writing in American aboriginal languages can be found at call numbers starting with 897, which includes English translations.
American Indian and First Nations authors who write in English are found at call numbers starting with 81 (American and Canadian authors). This section is huge, however, so it's best to search by author name or the title of the work. (Learn more about finding literature.)
Alternatively, search by "Indians of North America" or a tribe and a specific genre or topic:
Add juvenile literature to your search.
You can also browse the Native American children's books on the Lower Level of Lindell at call numbers starting with E, up to E 100. The books are on the low shelving units.
The reference books below contain author biographies, work synopses, and more.
Print reference books can be found in the Reference Section, near the Learning Commons on the first level of the library.
