- Minnesota Legislative BranchIncludes options to browse or search statutes by keyword or topic, and to find House and Senate bills by author, topic, committee, and action. You can also login to track current and pending bills or lookup your representatives.
- Minnesota Judicial BranchClick the Access Court Records link to access Supreme Court and Court of Appeals opinions and case records.
- Minnesota State RegisterThe official record of the state, the Register contains proposed and adopted rules, official notices, contracts, and state grants and loans. The archive goes back to 2007.
- Minnesota Statutes, Laws, & rulesBrowse or search Minnesota statutes, laws, and rules by keyword and phrase. You'll also find the Minnesota state Constitution here.
- Minnesota State Government OnlineThe official website of the State of Minnesota. Includes the government directory.

The Book of the StatesCall Number: Reference JK2403 .B6 2009A good reference source for information on state governments, covering current issues, programs, and policies.
When searching for books on states of the U.S., try adding the state's name to a topic. Or, use "State Governments" to look at issues encompassing the whole country. For example:

If your first search brings up too many irrelevant items, try using the Refine by Topic suggestions in the box on the left of the search results screen.
Here are some reference books that may be useful:
State and Metropolitan Area Data BookCall Number: Reference HA202 .S84 2006A supplement to the Statistical Abstract, this focuses on statistics on the states and metropolitan areas of the United States. Look here, for example, for Physicians, Community Hospitals, Medicare, Social Security, and SSI data listed by major metropolitan area. You can view the 1997-1998 edition for free online.
